The Métis Nation Governing Assembly (MNGA) is the legislative body of Métis Nation British Columbia, responsible for passing laws, reviewing governance and representing registered Métis Citizens. The MNGA meets three times a year, twice virtually and once in-person.
The MNGA is made up of all Métis Chartered Community Presidents and the MNBC Board of Directors. Any MNGA member can submit a resolution for the MNGA to consider. Regional representatives from the Métis Women of British Columbia (MWBC), Métis Youth British Columbia (MYBC), and Two Spirit Métis British Columbia (2SMBC) Councils attend the MNGA as observers.

- Sets the date for elections.
- Ratifies Regional Governance Council and Board interim appointments.
- Approves applications for Métis Chartered Communities.
- Reviews legislation, regulations, rules, resolutions and constitutional amendments. (If approved, the resolution is added to the Annual General Meeting agenda for final ratification).
