Introduction
The Ministry of Economic Development, Partnerships, and Tourism leads initiatives that strengthen the economic well-being of Métis Citizens across British Columbia. Through partnerships internally and externally, our work strives to meet diverse regional needs that focus on supporting Métis-owned businesses, fostering entrepreneurship, regional economic development readiness, and expanding access to tools, training, and capital.
Diversification of MNBC’s revenue streams through strategic investments and partnerships is a core focus. Leveraging MNBC-owned entities such as the Métis Financial Corporation and working closely with government and industry to unlock new opportunities for Métis participation in major projects is our key to success.
Our approach balances economic growth with environmental stewardship and cultural values. Our foundation is long-term, community-driven prosperity that benefits current and future generations of Métis people.
Key Initiatives
The Ministry of Economic Development, Partnerships, and Tourism is committed to promoting and supporting the over 500 Métis-owned businesses in B.C. The diversity of sectors represented range from mental health services to construction and real estate, to legal services, manufacturing, and much more. These businesses contribute a significant impact to the Canadian economy.
Currently, we are operating the Métis Business Portal to facilitate the promotion of Métis-owned businesses. Please register your business below, or scan the list to find relevant businesses for your needs.
In addition to the Métis Business Portal, we recently relaunched the Métis Trading Post, our e-commerce platform showcasing Métis artists and entrepreneurs from across B.C. The platform supports Métis makers and small businesses by increasing visibility and access to broader markets.
