Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging at Crosstown Apartments

In an effort to ensure that the transition to a low carbon economy is accessible, achievable and affordable for MNBC Citizens, two Level 2 charging stations have been installed at Crosstown Apartments.

This initiative supports MNBC’s commitment to a low-carbon future—promoting EV adoption, reducing emissions, and ensuring Métis inclusion in an Indigenous-led transition to a cleaner, more sustainable economy.

The first charger, a wall mount unit has been installed inside the parkade. The second charger installation, an outdoor pedestal unit, has also been installed in the outside parking lot.

These chargers use a 240 Volt outlet (similar to a kitchen stove) and add 30-60 km of range per hour charged.

FAQ

Who can access these charging stations?

The parkade charging station can be accessed by all Crosstown Apartments residents.

The outdoor charging stations can be accessed by residents and all other members of the public.

What is the cost of charging your electric vehicle?

The ChargePoint charging stations are free to use for all Crosstown Apartments residents.

All guests and members of the public will be required to pay a fee of $0.2972 per kilowatt hour (KWh). This is consistent with the public charging fee set by BC Hydro.

All users, including Crosstown residents, will be charged an idle fee of $10/hour after 4 hours of charging. As charging space is limited, this idle fee is in place to discourage people from leaving their fully-charged electric vehicle parked at the charger longer than required.
