Mental Health First Aid Essentials

Mental Health First Aid Essentials is a time-efficient introduction to Mental Health First Aid concepts for MNBC Citizens (16 years and older). It focuses on core ideas, such as: 

  • Recognizing early signs of mental health challenges 
  • Responding supportively with the ALGES framework 
  • Reducing stigma and enhancing empathy 
  • Learning how to identify suicide warning signs and respond with confidence 
  • Exploring basic self-care techniques 

Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces.

Requirements:

  • Participants must be 16 years of age or older
  • Each participant must have an individual electronic device, working camera, microphone, and speakers or earphones and reliable access to virtual session along with a Zoom account.
  • Participants must attend the full live session. More than 30 minutes of missed training will result in the participant being unable to continue and not receiving a certificate.
