Mental Health First Aid Essentials is a time-efficient introduction to Mental Health First Aid concepts for MNBC Citizens (16 years and older). It focuses on core ideas, such as:
- Recognizing early signs of mental health challenges
- Responding supportively with the ALGES framework
- Reducing stigma and enhancing empathy
- Learning how to identify suicide warning signs and respond with confidence
Exploring basic self-care techniques
Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces.
Requirements:
- Participants must be 16 years of age or older
- Each participant must have an individual electronic device, working camera, microphone, and speakers or earphones and reliable access to virtual session along with a Zoom account.
- Participants must attend the full live session. More than 30 minutes of missed training will result in the participant being unable to continue and not receiving a certificate.
