Asham Stompers To Perform At Olympic Venues

The Asham Stompers are so excited to have been selected to perform and are working extremely hard on their routines to ensure that they are the best they can be so as to bring pride to the Métis Nation.

Asham Stompers have a mission, which is to help recapture and preserve the history of the Métis peoples through the traditional dancing of the Red River Jig combined with square dance routines aptly named the Red River Dance.

Métis Nation British Columbia's 2010 Olympic Torchbearer team "Keeping it Riel" runs with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch January 29th, 2010.

Game Time Traffic Control Positions

Métis Nation British Columbia is pleased to announce DL Safety Consulting of BC is actively recruiting TCP available workers for Olympic Game Time Traffic Control Positions.

Work includes meals and accommodation and pays $13.00 per hour, transportation from cruise ship accommodations to worksite provided. People will be working in the outdoors and need to have appropriate clothing and footwear “PPE� for the weather. If you have your TCP and it is valid, BCDL “added value� , and a positive attitude and communication skills for customer service then there could be a position for you! Call now!

Individuals who do not have their Traffic Control Person ticket may apply for consideration as training will be provided to those who exhibit the right stuff to work the roads to the Olympic Venues and the pedestrian walkways.

If you wish to attend an Olympic or Paralympic themed event in BC (see events here) with a group of children or youth, and require financial assistance with transportation, please fill out the application form to apply for a 2010 GamesKids grant.

Vancouver, BC – With less than two months to go before the start of auditions on May 1, 2009, the Vancouver Organizing. Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) is looking for 7,500 applications to create a strong pool from which to select the successful performers in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. In the two weeks since the call for volunteers was issued, close to 3,200 applications have already been received through www.vancouver2010.com/ceremonies.
